THE LETTERS OF RALPH VAUGHAN WILLIAMS

Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Alan Frank (OUP)

Letter No. VWL2304

Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Alan Frank (OUP)

Letter No.: VWL2304

From R. Vaughan Williams,
The White Gates,
Westcott Road,
Dorking.

3rd July, 1947.

Dear Frank,

We cannot do anything about the American copies of the Concerto now, but I think we might alter such copies that remain in England and correct the American ones when they come back to us.1
Yours sincerely

R. Vaughan Williams.

1.  See VWL2302. Frank had written in reply that the alterations would be made to copies currently with the BBC as soon as they were returned but that the Robertsons (Rae Robertson and Ethel Bartlett) who were to give the work in America had taken their parts with them and he was reluctant to send alterations for entering into their scores unsupervised.
