Dear Frank,
I am so sorry if I was mistaken about the band parts.1 What happened was:
In No. 3 there was a passage for xylophone which had been deleted and was still being played, so I rather naturally took it for granted that it was still in the part and had not been crossed out. Then in the last movement towards the end I had taken out an accent and also a consordino mark for the brass. The accent was played and the consordino, but this may have been because it was still in the score. And there was one other small point. So I hope you will realise it was rather natural I should think these mistakes were still in the parts.
I am so sorry if I was upset unnecessarily.
Yrs.
