I find I owe you an apology – Bessy Trevelyan tells me that you did do Toveys prologue & that it never got on the programme – I wish I had known.2 Why was I not told?

1. Five Tudor Portraits (Catalogue of Works 1935/5). The broadcast from the Colston Hall, Bristol, was on the evening of Wednesday 21 August, with Boult conducting the BBC Chorus and Orchestra, with Astra Desmond and Roy Henderson.
2. VW had complained that no musical notice had been taken of the death of Donald Francis Tovey in BBC music programming – see VWL1429.
