Dear Adrian

I heard the M.P.1 from Leipzig over the wireless on Friday.  Thank God we’ve got the Bach Choir!

1. Bach’s St. Matthew Passion – this letter was perhaps written just after VWL1234. The performance of the work by the Thomaskirche in Leipzig, conducted by Karl Straube, had been broadcast in part on Good Friday, 11th April, 1930. Performances of the Passion from Leipzig were not broadcast in England later in the1930s.
