Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Adrian Boult
Letter No.: VWL2841
From R. Vaughan Williams,
10, Hanover Terrace,
Regents Park,
London, N.W.1.
July 8th 1954.
Dear Adrian,
As I no longer live in Surrey I am therefore not a fit and proper person to be President of the County Music Association. The Committee, I know, are anxious to ask you to be President and have asked me to sound you on the matter. I do hope you will be able to do it. The Society is I believe well worth encouraging, and Norman Askew is an excellent organiser. They asked me to send you a copy of the rules so you can know what you are in for.
Yrs
