1.  A pencilled note, possibly in the hand of VW’s secretary Mrs Beckett, gives the date as 7.9.43, suggesting that this refers to a performance of Pilgrim’s Progress broadcast on 5 September on the Home Service. It is the only VW work which Boult performed in August/September 1943.
