Dear Mr Harvey,
Thank you very much for your kind invitation. I have to be in Oxford for the Oxford Orchestra Festival in June and also possibly later on, for a concert by Mr. Rose’s1 choir. I wonder if we can fit it in with either of those dates; otherwise I feel I must refuse, with great reluctance, because I shall be very busy with other work, and I cannot leave it except under great necessity.
