January 19th 1942

Dearest V.W.

I am still aglow from Saturday1 & I can never, never thank you enough for your sweetness to me.
As a Dutch friend of mine would say “it was a great emotion” & knowing that you do not love such functions my appreciation of your goodness in coming is deeper that I can ever express.
It is very lovely & gratifying to have the medal but the way you presented it to me will be one of my most heart-warming memories –
Bless you 1942 times!
Yours devotedly

Myra
