Letter from Edward Clark to Ralph Vaughan Williams
Letter No.: VWL3717
29th March, 1939
Dear Dr. Vaughan Williams,
May I have the pleasure of sending you complimentary tickets for the Albert Hall and Queen’s Hall concerts on April 1st and 5th?
The Festival is really being a very great success, and we have almost sold out the Albert Hall.
The Committee have asked me to thank you very much indeed for the very kind help you have given us.
With kind regards,
Yours sincerely,
EC

1. RVW probably went on 1st April to hear the first performance of the Flourish for Wind Band as part of the Festival of Music for the People. On 5 April he attended Brasted Church for the St Matthew Passion, and probably did not go on to London.
