I’ve actually found a new problem: the Tallis work. 2 before W. Viola Solo.

Score says  [4th note G]¹

Part says [4th note B]

Which is right please? PC to BBC (or message) by Wednesday midday gratefully received!²

1. Annotated ‘yes’ by the score extract and ”G is correct. RVW’
2. Boult had already given several performances (three of them broadcast) before this rather conspicuous error cropped up as a query. He wanted (and got) an answer by ‘Wednesday’ because that evening (22 March) it was the opening item in the broadcast ‘Concert in Honour of the Visit of President [Albert] Lebrun’. The rehearsal letters are different in the 2008 edition, so this refers to bar 200 (i.e. 5 before W in the new edition).
