Dear Miss Scott
Thank you for your letter. I think it was so kind of you to write.
I can’t help being ashamed of myself for I lost my balance just from carelessness when I was dressing in my room – I have often fallen before but without any harm – I can only think that it is a great mistake to fall before breakfast when vitality is low.
I am getting on well & I believe I am not an anxiety to anyone – at least I hope I am not – I am in plaster now & shall be for some weeks to come – but I am getting used to that.
I have often thought about Ivor Gurney & should like to have some news of him when you can send a line – Is there any hope of a change in him?
Yours very sincerely
& with many thanks for the kind messages
Adeline Vaughan Williams

1. Gurney was in a psychiatric hospital.
