Dear Joyce

What a lovely thought of yours – and the box has just come. I like having some of yr handiwork in the house immensely1
I won’t say anything about the design for I havn’t taken it in &  only had time to admire the soft grey glaze.  I must choose the right weight books for them.
It was nice to see the green [ink] again & I hope it means you are well again.
We would love to see you both on 24th –  Would you like to come  for lunch at 1. or later.
This is a scrap to catch post – we are nursing a sick puss – poison or something like it.
Love from us
Yrs

1.  Joy had studied pottery and sculpture at the Central School of Arts & Crafts. Possibly these were pottery book-ends.
