Dear Mary,

I am so glad to hear that you can play on October 25th, Wigmore Hall, evening. I want you to play the Ivy Herbert String Trio and possibly also one other short work; but that depends on the length of the rest of the programme which is being chiefly organised to bring to the notice of the public the songs of John Raynor.
If you do play another work would it be possible to do the Finzi Trio?
I will ask Ivy Herbert to get in touch with you soon.
Though I am guaranteeing this concert financially I want my name kept out of it as far as possible.

Love Uncle Ralph

(R. Vaughan Williams).

Miss Mary Carter
