Letter from Ralph Vaughan Williams to Dora Knatchbull
Letter No.: VWL529
[ca 1939]
Dear Mrs Knatchbull,
I am so sorry I could not come yesterday. I had a long day in judging in the Elizabethan Festival, and felt rather run down and have to pull myself together for rather a hard week, this week.
I am being worried by a Russian refugee who wants to give piano lessons – do you happen to know if there is any Society for befriending foreign evacuees which could help him – or do you think Mark Hambourg would or could do anything?
Yours sincerely,
R. Vaughan Williams.
