I have today received a contract form offering me an engagement to conduct at the Promenade Concerts on September 5th.
I have already promised to attend the Worcester Festival on that date. It seems a great pity that I was not consulted before the date was fixed. I suppose there is no chance of changing it? I am keeping back my acceptance form in case the date can be altered.
